"Billy Billy Billy. This is a biggie, Billy."

The Rut, the Furrow, and the Groove
Three mice found themselves in the middle of an unfamiliar field, in a long, narrow depression.

The first mouse looked up, saw nothing but blue sky above, and said: "We are surrounded by brown, dull earth to our left and to our right. It's always been the same. Look above us, friends, the world is ours to discover. If we could only fly!"

The second mouse thought, then looked to his left and his right, and said: "The rich earth on our left and right has been our constant companion. Its warmth amid the cold winter keeps us alive. It protects us from the open field, where talons and claws are plentiful. "If we could always have such shelter!"

The third mouse looked at both his companions and twitched his whiskers. "Don't you recognize our fate? Don't you see where we are? Soon there will be seedlings bursting from the ground and food to nourish us and our children. "May we be smart enough to avoid the plow, fast enough to hide from the talons and claws, and wise enough to see that the rut, the furrow, and the groove are one, through One. Facets of our Creator's love."
