Crying and smiling? This is where we are.
Inside of me fear, joy, love, excitement, pride, uncertainty, and ultimately the confidence in God and in all of us that we will remain, through all the difficulties that will come. Our grandparents parents, great grandparents came through in their lives. Now is our time. We will shine and show that we are made of the same strong yet pliant mettle as the beautiful, God-given people who have given us their shoulders to stand on.
So I guess I cry as I watch the news. The news from Gaza. The speeches in DC. "Dire" economic plot. And still faith and hope are indeed wrapped in the arms of God's love for all of us.
My action for tomorrow is to ask God. God bless the world. God bless our country. God bless our new president and his family. God bless my mom and dad, brothers and sisters. God bless my friends. God bless my family. God bless my children. I pray for all of us. We will come down where we ought to be -- maybe we are right now.
