This is a pretty common exchange at our house.

The kids are learning that treating other people well does more than one thing:
1. Gets the kids what they want, mostly :)
2. Makes people feel appreciated

I'm going to remember that when I need peace in a situation, politeness can help. In traffic. In the store.
